Thanks to church employers
Who responded to the lay employee census. Every voice counts, and we knew we could count on yours!
The Lay Employees Study is authorized by General Convention Resolution A125
A 1991 resolution of General Convention requires church bodies to provide a pension plan for lay employees.
CPG is conducting a church-wide survey of lay employees concentrating on employee demographics, the exercise of authority in the employment setting, and compensation and benefits.
This survey supports two Episcopal Church initiatives:
- the Church's continuing efforts to address employment issues through the work of its Task Force to Study Employment Policies and Practices, and
- a feasibility study examining whether pension benefits for lay employees should be made compulsory and be administered by a single provider. The feasibility study is being led by the Episcopal Church's Office of Ministry Development.
