As an active clergy person, you are automatically enrolled in Short-Term Disability Insurance to help maintain your income should you become disabled for less than a year.
Disability Retirement Benefit
Full-time, active participants1 in the clergy pension plan also receive a disability retirement benefit for total, continuing disability that renders them unable to work.
Long-Term Disability Insurance
Your employer may also provide additional Long-Term Disability Insurance as a group benefit through the Church Pension Fund. If not, you may purchase this insurance on your own, through your employer, if your employer participates in the program.
Accidental Death & Dismemberment
Clergy covered by Group Term Life Insurance also have some protection against severe disability through the accidental death & dismemberment features of the plan.
