Within 3 to 6 months of your retirement date:
- Ask Social Security for your Medicare card three months before your 65th birthday.
- Decide when to take Social Security benefits if you are not yet eligible to receive them.
- Consider opportunities to earn income after retirement, if you need or wish to.
- Be aware of the limits on earnings in retirement for Social Security and the Church Pension Fund .
