Short-Term Disability coverage helps fill the financial gap if you are unable to work because of illness or accidental bodily injury. The plan replaces lost income should you become medically disabled for more than 30 days. If necessary, payments continue for up to 52 weeks.
This benefit is provided by the Church Pension Fund to assist Episcopal Church employers with costs incurred when an active member of the clergy1 is unable to work because of illness or injury.
Coverage
The benefit covers 70% of your total compensation, as reported to CPF, with a maximum benefit of $1,000 per week, for a maximum of 52 weeks.
While receiving this benefit, your employer is required to continue paying you in full and making pension assessment payments as billed.
1Active clergy: Generally, clergy on whose behalf assessments are being paid and are up-to-date.
