Long-Term Disability Insurance
Assuring income for serious disability
Long-Term Disability Insurance covers clergy and lay employees who are disabled for 12 months or more. Benefits continue until the person is able to work again, or until age 65, and longer in some cases.
Your Episcopal organization may provide Long-Term Disability coverage as an employment benefit, or employees may purchase it on their own through your church organization.

Clergy disability retirement benefit
The clergy pension plan also provides a disability retirement benefit for clergy participating in the plan. This benefit is for total disability only and does not cover those who work part time. After one year, a reduced disability benefit may be possible, should the cleric be able to return to work part-time. See details about the long-term disability benefit.
