Reporting workplace injury or illness

How to report a workplace
injury or illness

  • Fastest: Call us at (800) 223-5705, 8:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Mon.-Fri. ET, and we'll be glad to walk you through the process. Phone claims are entered immediately, with the least chance of error.

  • Fax your report to us at (800) 447-5699. (Delays can occur on either end.)

  • Slowest: Mail your report, knowing that every day of delay is likely add to the cost of the claim.

You can reduce Workers' Compensation claims costs up to 30% by reporting workplace injuries and illnesses in three days or less. Reducing claims costs benefits everyone in the plan, since the cost of claims directly affects the cost of premiums.

The longer you wait to report an employee workplace injury or illness, the costlier a claim is likely to be—and the longer it will take to resolve.

Claims filed after 26 days cost 30% more than those filed within three days. In fact, the average total cost for a claim increases 3% for every day the first report of injury is delayed from the date of injury.*

You're helping control costs

Today, employers holding Workers' Compensation Insurance with the Church Insurance Company average just over 17 days to report a claim.

Since 2000, church employers have reduced the average reporting time by nearly 39 days and significantly reduced costs. Reducing the time even further—to three days or less—will save even more!
