We rely on you and the clergy you employ for accurate information about their compensation and changes in work and family status.
Incorrect information places benefits at risk. Each assessment notice you receive provides a space for you to communicate changes in compensation.
In addition, clergy receive an Annual Certificate in the first quarter of each year. This certificate gives each cleric an opportunity to verify the compensation on record for the previous year, service earned and assessment status.
Each year, clergy also receive a Personal Information Summary. This document gives the cleric an opportunity to verify such information as name, address, beneficiary's name, etc., as well as compensation and credited service. The Personal Information Summary also provides each cleric with an estimate of his or her projected retirement benefit.
After two years, corrections to compensation and unpaid assessments cannot be accepted unless unusual and extraordinary circumstances apply.
