You are eligible
You may enroll in Long-Term Disability Insurance if you work for pay at least 20 hours a week for an Episcopal institution. The review process for eligibility is entirely independent from the process used to review applicants for lay disability retirement benefits.
You are covered for disability from the first day you enroll in the plan.
Enroll within 60 days
You should enroll within 60 days of your date of hire. If you are paying for the plan, enrollment after 60 days requires a health statement and is processed by First UNUM Life Insurance Company for approval.
