Long-Term Disability Insurance
Assuring income if you're disabled for more than a year
Most of us would need financial help if we were unable to work for a year or more.
Your employer may provide Long-Term Disability Insurance as a full benefit of employment, or you may purchase it yourself through your employer.
Benefits begin when you are disabled for 12 months, and they continue until you are able to work again, or until you reach age 65—and longer, in some cases.
