How much life insurance do you need?
Insurance through your pension
When you retire with the Church Pension Fund, you receive a Group Term Life Insurance benefit of twice your Highest Average Compensation,* plus $5,000, with a maximum of $30,000.
Insurance through your employer or diocese
If your former parish or diocese provided Group Term Life Insurance as a benefit of employment, they may offer a reduced insurance benefit for retirees.
Insurance you may purchase
Whole and term life policies are available for individual purchase through Church Life Insurance Corporation.
*Highest Average Compensation (HAC) is generally the average of the highest-paid seven out of eight consecutive 12-month periods in your ministry on which assessments were paid.
