Adult Sexual Misconduct Training Conference

This two-day conference provides training in how to train others using the Preventing Exploitation in Communities of Faith and Preventing Sexual Harassment of Church Workers programs.

Attendees will gain a better understanding of the content of the programs and learn from those who helped develop them on how to provide effective training. The Church Pension Group does not certify trainers. Certificates of completion will be provided.

The Sexual Exploitation program includes a DVD about preventing sexual exploitation by church leaders, and a DVD for church leaders on how to prevent sexual exploitation in their congregations. Each DVD is about 20 minutes.

The Sexual Harassment program includes a DVD for all church workers (employees and volunteers) defining sexual harassment under federal law, giving examples of different types of illegal harassment, and explaining the worker's rights and the worker's responsibilities. The second DVD is for managers, supervisors, and church leaders. It explains their responsibilities to prevent and respond appropriately to allegations of sexual harassment. Each DVD is about 20 minutes.

Participants in the conference will receive the training manuals for both programs. Full kits, including the DVD's, will be available for purchase through Church Publishing, Inc.

Please note: Safeguarding God's Children materials will not be covered at this conference.
