Post-retirement healthcare assistance for Church Pension Fund beneficiaries
From January 1 through December 31, 2008, the Church Pension Fund will contribute $250 per month toward the cost of an Episcopal Church Medical Trust Medicare supplement plan for each eligible cleric who retired with 20 or more years of service and his or her eligible surviving spouse. The fund contributes $500 per month for each eligible clergy couple.
This contribution covers the entire premium cost of the Comprehensive Plan. Below are premium costs you pay, if you are eligible and choose to participate:
| Medicare Supplement Plan |
Plan Cost per Person per Month Years of Service |
|||
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 20 or more | 10 to 19 | 5 to 9 | ||
| With Prescription Drug Coverage | ||||
| Comprehensive | $0 | $2 - $20 | $250 | |
| Plus | $75 | $77 - $95 | $325 | |
| Premium | $110 | $112 - $130 | $360 | |
Please note: Some dioceses subsidize all or a portion of the above costs. Check with your diocese to determine your actual costs for each plan before making your election.
You may enroll in any of the plans and use the Church Pension Fund's health care assistance to cover the cost. If you select a plan under $250, the remaining subsidy amount may be applied toward a dental plan* and/or returned to the fund's pool of assets.
*If the dental plan cost is less than the remaining subsidy amount.
