Answer: To determine the fair market rental value, contact a real estate agent who can provide you with an estimate of your home’s monthly rental amount as furnished, and then add utilities. Or, you can review the cost of local rentals in your area for housing of your type, and add the cost of utilities and furnishings. To estimate the cost of furniture, you can check out prices at a furniture rental company.
