Turning Pages: Church Publishing and Social Responsibility

“Church Publishing is proud to be the home for thought leaders in the Church, promoting awareness and critical thinking on the most important issues of our time,” Church Publishing Incorporated (CPI) Publisher Mark Dazzo noted. “We have always been grateful for our role in bringing diverse voices and scholarship to a broad audience.”

Many recent titles from CPI deal with issues of creation care and environmental sustainability. For example, Hospitable Planet by Stephen A. Jurovics and Harvesting Abundance by Brian Sellers-Petersen connect environmental concern with the theology of creation. CPI has also published books highlighting diversity, reconciliation, and inclusion, perhaps most notably Living into God's Dream, Dismantling Racism in America. Edited by Catherine Meeks, this volume shares personal stories along with theological reflection and examples of how to create safe spaces for dialogue.

Other titles—Beyond a Binary God by Tara Soughers, Post-Traumatic God by David W, Peters, Bivocational by Mark Edington, and In Conversation: Michael Curry and Barbara Harris among them—continue to engage readers with topics of interest to Episcopalians and the broader faith community.

Mark concluded, “We remain committed to supporting the values and ever-changing needs of the Episcopal Church and hope to build greater awareness of our publishing efforts in the future. As a special incentive to Perspective readers, we are offering a 25 percent discount on online orders through December 21, 2018.”
