The Reverend Clayton Crawley is Executive Vice President and Chief Church Relations Officer of CPG. He is responsible for strengthening CPG’s ties with the Domestic and Foreign Missionary Society, the General Convention, and other groups and stakeholders around The Episcopal Church. He joined CPG in 1999.

Previously, Fr. Crawley led CPG’s technology program and served as Chief Information Officer. Prior to this, he was the Associate Rector of All Saints Episcopal Church, Palo Alto, California. He has more than 25 years of ordained ministry experience and currently serves as a non-stipendiary priest at St. Bartholomew’s Parish and Trinity Church Wall Street in New York City. 

He holds an MDiv from the Church Divinity School of the Pacific.

Mary Kate Wold
Chief Executive Officer and President
Church Pension Group

Mary Kate Wold serves as Chief Executive Officer and President of the Church Pension Group (CPG), a $17 billion financial services enterprise that provides retirement, health, life insurance, property and casualty insurance, and other products and services to The Episcopal Church. She also serves as a member of the Board of Trustees of The Church Pension Fund, CPG’s governing body.

She has served in a variety of leadership positions in the corporate, legal, and government sectors. Prior to joining CPG, she was a senior finance executive and principal corporate officer of Wyeth, one of the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies. Before embarking on her corporate career, she was a partner and chaired the tax practice group of Shearman & Sterling, a leading global law firm. Earlier in her career, she served in the Office of Tax Policy of the United States Department of the Treasury.

Her board participation has included both not-for-profit and for-profit organizations. She sits on the board of the Church Benefits Association, a national association of faith-based benefits organizations, and on the steering committee of the Church Alliance, a benefits policy and advocacy group. From 2016 until 2023 she served on the vestry of Trinity Church Wall Street in New York City and on its investment committee, which oversees the institution’s multi-billion-dollar real estate and securities portfolio. She also sits on the boards of Nucleus RadioPharma, The Jackson Laboratory, and Burke Neurological Institute. Her professional affiliations include membership in the Women’s Forum of New York and Women Corporate Directors.

Mary Kate spent her childhood in Bottineau, North Dakota, a small rural community on the Canadian border. She graduated from Hamline University in St. Paul, Minnesota, summa cum laude with a BA in English and Theater and was elected a member of Phi Beta Kappa. She later graduated cum laude from the University of Michigan Law School. She holds an honorary degree of Doctor of Humane Letters from the Berkeley Divinity School at Yale University.

Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer
The Episcopal Church

Kurt Barnes has been the Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of the Domestic and Foreign Missionary Society (The Episcopal Church) since October 2003. His career spans finance and investment management in for-profit and not-for-profit organizations. Kurt began his career as an economist for the RAND Corporation. He later became an Associate Editor at Time Inc.’s Fortune magazine.

Kurt worked for 20 years as a Financial Officer at Inco Limited (International Nickel Company of Canada). He subsequently joined Morgan Stanley as a Vice President in the Fiduciary Advisory group. In 2002, in a reorganization initiated by the New York State Attorney General, Kurt became Chief Financial Officer of Hale House Center, Inc. He also served as the Interim Deputy Executive Director for Finance and Information Technology at Amnesty International USA.

Kurt is a life-long Episcopalian and his volunteer activities include service to the Episcopal Diocese of New York as a member of program, budget and governance committees and Episcopal Charities. He is the Treasurer of an organization that funds to support the educational and social activities of a group of Yale University seniors. Kurt also serves on the Investment Committees of Amnesty International and the American Baptist Home Mission Society. He is an ex-officio member of Episcopal Relief and Development’s Board of Directors. 

Kurt received his BA in Economics from Yale University and MA in Economics from Harvard University. He resides in New York City and Millbrook, NY; and serves on the vestry of Grace Church, Millbrook, NY.

Sr. Patricia Daly, OP
Consultant for Corporate Responsibility and Impact Investing
Sisters of St. Dominic of Caldwell, NJ

Sister Patricia Daly, OP, is a Dominican Sister of Caldwell, New Jersey, and has worked in corporate responsibility and socially responsible investing for more than 40 years. After almost 24 years, Pat recently concluded her tenure as executive director of the Tri-State Coalition for Responsible Investment, an organization of 40 Roman Catholic Dioceses and Congregations of Women and Men primarily in the New York metropolitan area, and is a member of the Interfaith Center on Corporate Responsibility.

Pat has invited companies to address issues of human rights, labor, ecological concerns, equality, and international debt and capital flows, and played a role in positioning the agenda of global warming into the priorities of corporate America. In addition to representing her congregation before corporations, Pat also represents additional institutional Investors. She serves on the advisory boards of Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory, the climate science arm of Columbia University’s Earth Institute, and JANA Partners, the first hedge fund to implement corporate engagement and socially responsible principles. Pat helped to launch the Dominican-initiated Climate Finance investment products that work to implement the U.​N.​ Sustainable Development Goals. She is the proud recipient of the 2014 Joan Bavaria Award presented by Ceres and Trillium Asset Management, the2017 Legacy Award presented by ICCR, and holds honorary doctorates from William Paterson University and Duquesne University.

Joseph M. Kinard
Past Chair, Committee on Mission Responsibility Through Investment
Presbyterian Church (USA)

Joseph M. Kinard is past Chair of the Presbyterian Church (USA) Committee on Mission Responsibility Through Investment (MRTI), which was created in 1971 to advance the Church’s mission through the financial resources (approximately $10 billion) entrusted to it. MRTI implements the PCUSA policies on socially responsible investing (also called faith-based investing) by engaging corporations in which the Church owns stock. Priorities for MRTI include: pursuit of peace; racial, social, and economic justice; environmental responsibility; and securing women’s rights.

During his tenure as board member of the Presbyterian Church (USA) Board of Pensions, he served on the CEO Search; Investment; Board Development and Governance; Social Responsibility; and Church Relations Committees. In addition, Mr. Kinard served as a reviewer of the Presbyterian Church (USA) Foundation investment strategy. He is an acknowledged thought leader in corporate socially responsible/impact investing, having spoken at institutional investor summits sponsored by the New York Stock Exchange, NASDAQ, Thomson Reuters, Institutional Real Estate Investors, and High Water Women’s Investing for Impact Symposium. He was also a guest lecturer at the University of the South Babson Center for Global Commerce and Yale University School of Management Impact Investing Conference. 

Joseph, through his company The Kinard Group, LLC, has helped companies in obtaining venture capital, angel, and mezzanine financing representing both capital funds and their portfolio companies. In 2018, he was inducted into the National Association of Securities Professionals (NASP) Wall Street Hall of Fame. NASP is the oldest organization in America supporting women and minorities in the financial services industry.

James W. Murphy
Managing Program Director
The Episcopal Church Foundation

James W. Murphy serves as Managing Program Director of the Episcopal Church Foundation (ECF). He oversees ECF’s financial resources programs: planned giving; donor solutions; including ECF’s Donor-advised Fund program; and ECF’s comprehensive giving resource ECF360. Jim works closely with ECF’s Endowment Management current and potential clients. He also works with congregations, dioceses, and other Episcopal organizations to enhance and develop their programs and resources.

He is General Editor and a contributing author for Faithful Investing: the Power of Decisive Action and Incremental Change, an ecumenical book on socially responsible investing, and a contributor to One Minute Stewardship, and We Shall Be Changed, all from Church Publishing Inc. 

Christopher Rowe, CFA
Managing Director, Investments
Church Pension Group


Christopher Rowe is a Managing Director of CPG. He is responsible for leading CPG’s socially responsible investment engagement strategy and outreach initiatives. He works to build relationships with companies in which CPG invests, peer organizations, The Episcopal Church, and other stakeholders with similar values. Additionally, he works on behalf of the Chief Investment Officer to oversee various aspects of administration for the Investments Department, including communications and compliance.

Prior to CPG, Christopher was Chief of Staff to the CEO of PGIM, Prudential Financial’s asset management business, where he was responsible for wide-ranging activities including business administration, external relations, and sustainability. Earlier in his career, he worked directly with institutions and faith-based investors on strategies for integrating values with investments.

He received a BA in Economics from Haverford College and an MBA in Finance from New York University. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
