The digital world is evolving at breakneck speed—and so are the tactics used by cybercriminals. Not long ago, identifying suspicious emails and text messages was fairly straightforward. Misspellings, odd requests, and questionable links were red flags. Today, however, the rapid growth of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) has made scams far more convincing and widespread.
Fraudsters now use GenAI to create messages that look and sound authentic, often impersonating people or institutions you know and trust. These messages are designed to create urgency and trick recipients into sharing sensitive information.
