Remembering David Lewis Brigham

“Before we had an Investments corporate unit at the Church Pension Group, we had David Brigham,” Chief Investment Officer Michael Hood remarked. Truly a fiduciary’s fiduciary, David remained dedicated to The Church Pension Fund (CPF) for more than five decades, serving in multiple roles. “We are saddened to hear of his death on November 6,” Michael said.

David first became involved with CPF in the mid-1960s while at J.P. Morgan Investment Management, where he managed CPF’s investment portfolio externally. He joined the CPF Board of Trustees in 1981, serving until 1988, and then returned to the board in 1997, where he remained until 2009.

During his tenure, he chaired the Investment Committee twice. After leaving the board, David continued as an advisor to the Investment Committee until his retirement in 2019.

“David’s many years of service to CPG contributed significantly to the current strength of the pension fund, and we are forever grateful,” CEO and President Mary Kate Wold said.
