Did You Know?
According to the American Academy of Dermatology, an estimated one in five Americans will develop skin cancer in their lifetime. This summer, protect yourself by following these tips:
- Stay in shaded areas whenever possible
- Wear protective clothing
- Use a broad-spectrum, water-resistant sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher
- Perform regular skin self-exams to look for signs of skin cancer
If you have a concern about a suspicious spot on your skin, make sure to get it checked out by a healthcare professional.
