Schedule Small Steps
When you return from a CREDO conference, it’s easy to think that everything can be done at once. Your energy level is high, and there is a natural desire to accomplish something of substance while your momentum is strong. The tendency to take on too much, too quickly can actually cause your momentum to drop, leaving you feeling unmotivated to follow through on the plans that you have made.
To program yourself for better success, think about the changes you are trying to make and consider three specific, actionable, and measurable steps that you can readily take to begin these changes. Remember, intention is good, but scheduling is better. Once you’ve identified three tasks, schedule them in your calendar and give yourself the freedom to complete those three tasks before moving on to others. This regular and consistent attention will create change much more effectively than trying to accomplish all of your goals at once!
