Marketplace Model Policies
Employers Not Participating in the Denominational Health Plan
Starting October 1, 2013 the federal government required employers to notify all employees of the existence of the Health Insurance Marketplaces. The Department of Labor (DOL) issued two Model Notices - one for employers that offer health coverage and one for employers that do not offer health coverage - to assist employers in the notification process. Most employers are required to complete the Model Notice and distribute it to all employees.
As a courtesy, the Medical Trust has developed optional communication materials for employers not participating in the Medical Trust’s Denominational Health Plan (DHP). If brokers or health insurers have not provided Model Notice communication materials, employers not participating in the Medical Trust may use the documents on this page to communicate with employees.

- FAQs for employees not participating in the DHP
In the future, DOL may issue revised documents, regulations or requirements. The documents on this page will be updated accordingly.
If you wish to learn more about the Medical Trust and DHP, see Denominational Health Plan.
