Short-Term Disability Benefit

Accidents happen. People get sick. In fact, nearly one-third of Americans entering the work force today will become disabled before they retire.1 Short-term disability benefit helps you continue paying your bills even when you can’t work for up to one year.

Short-term disability benefit may cover events such as:

  • Maternity leave
  • Injuries
  • Extended illness
  • Recovery from surgery
  • Hospitalization

Your employer may provide short-term disability as a benefit. If you do not receive this benefit, you may be able to purchase short-term disability through your employer to help protect you financially, should you be unable to work for a limited period of time. To find out, please contact your benefits administrator.
