Church Pension Group | What Are the Benefits?

What Are the Benefits?

Supplemental Group Life offers the following benefits:

  • Living benefit option – This option allows the insured to receive his or her benefits prior to death in the event he or she is diagnosed with a terminal illness under the “living benefit payment.”
  • Waiver of premium – If the employee is totally disabled for at least six months prior to age 60, CPG will pay the premiums.
  • Convenient payment options – Employees can have their life insurance premiums deducted from their paycheck, or choose to pay via electronic funds transfer, which automatically deducts payments from their checking or savings account.

Supplemental Group Life Insurance Is Portable and Convertible

If the employee leaves employment with the Church prior to age 70, he or she can keep the Supplemental Life policy if he or she applies within 45 days of the date of notification. Also, he or she may convert all or part of the Supplemental Term coverage to a permanent Whole Life Insurance policy offer by Church Life, without interruption or a medical review. Premiums will be based on the employee’s age and the rates in effect when the policy is converted.
